How to order?

Introduction

For our premium furniture, we want to favor a personnal relationship with our customers (if possible face to face in our show-room, otherwise by phone), for answering your questions, informing you about our furniture availability, etc.

This is why our site does not allow automatic orders by credit card. Please contact us for orders.

Please note that we often have only one piece of furniture for each part number. Consequently our offer is "as long as quantities last". If you find a product you like on our site, we suggest you contact us for booking it.

Our sales are according to our general terms & conditions. You will find below an extract of important information regarding the furniture ordering process and the delivery.

Furniture and accessories terms and conditions are different.

Order categories for furniture (regular order, special order)

Regular orders: These are orders for all furniture in our "furniture list" pages on our site.

Special orders: These are orders for furniture which is not currently available, order-made, or with a non standard delivery.

Ordering process

For regular orders, the deposit is 300 € + additional costs when applicable (delivery, customs clearance, etc).

For special orders, the deposit is 50% of the order amount.

For orders of accessories, the full amount is due at order.

Unless otherwise agreed on the purchase order, for customers in France we accept checks or wire transfers. For customers out of France we accept wire transfers only. We are not equipped for payments by credit cards.

Price

All prices on THE AUTHENTIC JAPANESE FURNITURE site are in € (Euros) including French VAT (value added tax - as of June 2010: 19.6 % for new furniture, 5.5 % for antique furniture above 100 years old).

We are selling sets made of several pieces of furniture, at a discounted price. You cannot change the contents of a set. A set has 1 part number, and is considered as 1 article for the discount calculation.

Discount

3 kinds of discount:

  • Quantity base: When you order several articles more than 2 000 € each, you will get an immediate discount of 75 € for each of these articles.
    Only applicable to single deliveries.
  • Campaigns: We might have special campaigns, which will be advertised on our website.
  • Recommendation: Word to mouth is key for our development. When a new customer is recommended to us by a sponsor and places an order of 2 000 € or more, we will give a total discount of 150 €:
    • For the sponsor: a 75 € discount on his next order of 2 000 € or more within 3 years.
    • For the new customer: a 75 € discount available immediately, for his first order. He will need to inform us the sponsor's customer number prior to ordering.

Furniture availability and delivery lead time

Furniture identified by a green mark is available in our French warehouse. We can usually deliver you, or handle to your transporter, within a few days.

Furniture identified by a yellow mark, please contact us to confirm the lead time.

The delivery date will be written in the purchase order.

Delivery

Depending on your location and the merchandise you order, you can pick-up or we can deliver:

  • "Direct delivery" (for furniture in France mainland only): THE AUTHENTIC JAPANESE FURNITURE delivers the furniture to your home address, unwraps, assembles and places. Delivery during our monthly milk-run. We are charging a participation to delivery costs: 65 € for each portion of 200 km from Paris, except the 50 first km from our headquarters in Paris (e.g. : 380 km from Paris => participation is calculated on 330 km => 2 x 65 € = 130 € participation to delivery cost).
    (We may be able to organize the delivery to customers in Europe on a case by case basis. Please contact us so that we can calculate the delivery cost to your location. In this case, the order will be considered as a "special order".)
  • "Parcel shipping" (for kotatsukotatsu
    Warming low table         accessories only): We ship to your address by postal services. We are charging a participation to delivery costs.
  • "Pick-up": You pick-up at our Paris suburb warehouse or ask your transporter to pick-up. (We can give you a list of transportation companies.) 

Important notice prior to / at delivery:

  • Make sure that the articles can be carried through your doors / stairs / etc. without any specific mechanical equipment, considering the article dimension + 20 cm (e.g.: for a 100 x 100 x 45 cm tansutansu
    Japanese chest, generally speaking piece of furniture for a storage purpose     we need access for 120 x 120 x 65 cm).
  • Be at home for the delivery.
  • Inspect the article upon delivery.
  • Make balance payment at least 3 days prior to delivery (or by check upon delivery for customers in France).
